You Belong in NAPUS!

Congratulations on your appointment as Postmaster or your assignment as an officer-in-charge (OIC). Now, take the second most important step in your career by joining the National Association of Postmasters of the United States.

Would more than eight out of 10 Postmasters pay dues to NAPUS if they weren’t getting their money’s worth in representation and services? Certainly not!

Founded in 1898—more than a century ago!—NAPUS continues a proud tradition of responsibly representing the interests of our nation’s Postmasters.

Postmasters—both active and retired—belong in NAPUS! And so do OICs.

It’s Easy to Join!

Joining the greatest organization of Postmasters in the United States takes less than five minutes. Simply complete and mail to the NAPUS National Office the Form 1187 (simply click on Form 1187 when you’re ready to proceed). This form, which also may be used by OICs, serves as both your request to join NAPUS and as your authorization for dues withholding (click on Dues Schedule for the current-year dues, which includes dues to your NAPUS chapter).

That’s all it takes! Right away, you’ll begin receiving the Postmasters Gazette and NAPUS Update and, soon after, your NAPUS chapter newsletter will begin arriving.

Twice a year—at the end of June and the end of December—the NAPUS National Office mails to each new member a permanent NAPUS membership card and various other informative materials

Free Life Insurance!

If you’re a newly appointed Postmaster, you soon will receive an offer of $10,000 in free, no-strings-attached term life insurance for one year—paid in full by NAPUS!

To qualify, you must actively be performing the duties of Postmaster, be a member of NAPUS and sign the “activator” enrollment form within 45 days from the date of the offer letter.

You’re covered from the effective date shown on the Certificate of Insurance you receive, provided you sign and return the “activator” card within 45 days. At the end of the free year—and if you’re under the age of 70—you will be given the option of renewing your NAPUS term life coverage at extremely attractive rates.
