Re: Meeting of March 21st with Mr. Potter

Sorry for the lateness of providing an update of our meeting with Mr. Potter.

The meeting was very positive and very well received by all in attendance.  We met with Mr. Potter and Mr. Vegliante concerning our joint letter.

We expressed our feelings at how volatile we know working conditions are in the field.  We have gotten their attention.  From our meeting we formed a Management Task Force to address work place issues.  Members of this Task Force will be the presidents of the three management organizations, Mr. Vegliante, and Mr. Tulino.  We will schedule our first meeting in a week depending on everyone's schedules.

Of primary concern to the group are the threats, intimidation and retaliation.  We were assured that these issues would be addressed swiftly if identified.  We have already identified some areas of concern and statements that were made from the responses to the survey.  I must say that this survey will be invaluable as we proceed.  We have already identified some issues down to the Areas but are now fine tuning them to the Districts.

What do we need from you?  We need any statements of threats, intimidation and retaliation.  Yes they can be anonymous.  Mr. Potter said he would handle these immediately.  We need to be specific.  They have already handled anonymous letters on these issues.

After our first meeting we will move on to more specific work place issues.  We have a lot of info now on threats, intimidation and retaliation that we will bring forward but we need to aggressively work to stop this form of violence in the work place and we need to know of instances as soon as they happen.

As I said this was definitely a positive meeting and a step in the right direction.  I will keep you posted.

Please call if you have any questions.
